GAMBIT COMMUNICATIONS' MIMIC™ SIMULATOR BECOMES PART OF THE TOLLY GROUP'S TEST TOOL PAVILION
Nashua, NH - June 10, 2002 - Gambit Communications, the leading network management simulation tools provider, announced today that The Tolly Group has integrated Gambit's MIMIC™ Simulator into its Test Tool Pavilion. The addition of MIMIC to The Tolly Group's portfolio of test tools provides a "virtual lab" to create network environments and conditions - such as very large, heterogeneous networks, major trap storms, etc. - that can be costly to produce in a physical lab.
MIMIC extends the lab environment by simulating managed networks populated with routers, hubs, switches and other devices that are managed using the SNMP, Cisco IOS®, Telnet, DHCP, TFTP, ToD and MGCP/NCS protocols. It provides a scalable, flexible and extensible network simulation environment. This creates an inexpensive way for enterprises, device vendors, management software developers and outsourcers to demo, test, develop, train and certify management applications without purchasing all the equipment and maintaining labs for those functions.
"We are pleased to have Gambit Communications as part of our Test Tool Pavilion," said Kevin Tolly, President & CEO of The Tolly Group. "Gambit's MIMIC Simulator allows us to simulate large virtual networks without the time consuming and costly build out of a traditional lab."
"We are excited to be a partner with The Tolly Group, a leading, independent testing organization," explained Pankaj Shah, CEO of Gambit Communications. "The Tolly Group's decision to utilize MIMIC Simulator into their lab emphasizes MIMIC's value as an evaluation, testing and certification tool. With MIMIC's network simulation and recording ability, they will be able to create consistent and accurate test environments for evaluation of management applications."

About
    MIMIC
MIMIC provides an inexpensive way for enterprises, device vendors, management
software developers and outsourcers to demo, test, develop, train and certify
management applications without purchasing equipment and maintaining labs
for those functions. MIMIC has the ability to simulate up to 10,000 devices
from one workstation. MIMIC simulations can be distributed over multiple platforms
for enterprise simulation testing of even larger environments. MIMIC includes
user-friendly wizards for importing new MIBs, recording large networks, creating
device simulations and network topologies, and provides full support for SNMP(v1,
    v2, v2c, v3), RMON(1, 2), DHCP, TFTP, ToD, DOCSIS and MGCP/NCS, as well as
    Telnet and IOS.
